Riding Experience

Luca’s parents have always been scared about 2-wheels power engines thus he had to wait to the age of 24 before being able to drive a proper bike (Honda VTR). With many riding years to catch up with, he engaged himself in some weird and exciting trips such as London-Venice in one night! He also traveled all the way down to Montenegro (boys, nice roads!) and cornered on the Italian and French Alps.

What makes you embark on such a journey?

There are three main reasons. First I’m passionate about motor biking and everything that comes with it: the feeling of freedom, the danger, the adventure and the chance to solely escape from the routine by reaching remote destinations in short periods of time. I’m thrilled by the acceleration and by the constant challenge that motor bikes require you to face!
Secondly, I’m in love with the East side of the world. In the past I had the opportunity to travel to Turkey, Russia and India and I got extremely fascinated with the eastern cultures. This expedition is the once in a life opportunity to explore new geographies and cultures on two wheels. The Silk Road, the Mongolian desert, remote river crossings and unexpected interactions with people living a very different life … I really can’t wait!

Last but not least, I’m doing this to help the children of Mongolia. I know there are many children who suffer and die around the world and we decided to support an area where children have received very little help so far!

What skill do you bring to the team?

I strive towards results and give my best whenever challenged. I have a lot of experience at bringing ideas all the way from conception to completion by building strong teams and successfully executing the plan. I hope to use this experience to both materialize the expedition before departure and help us remain motivated as a team once on the way.

What do you think will be the hardest part of riding half way across the world?

Well, many things can happen when you drive east for 20,000 Km ! There won’t be many roads in Russia and Mongolia and given that we are completely unaided a major breakdown on one of our motorbikes would seriously jeopardize our expedition. However, I believe we are well trained and enough driven to make this a successful and fun expedition!

What do you think you will miss the most in the two months that you are away?

Some smooth tarmac and maybe a clean/hot shower!
